Yesterday, 5th and 6th class visited Bray Garda station as part of our Community Garda, Stephen’s, work with the school. He visited 5th class a couple of weeks ago so we were really interested to see everything that we’d learned about. You can read our previous post here. We had a really interesting morning in Bray Garda station and we got to see the squad cars, the cells, the medical room, the interview room and the control room where all the emergency calls for County Wicklow come into. 2nd Class have been learning about Irish myths and legends. We decided to record podcasts and make videos to help us to remember the sequence of the stories. As always we used Soundcloud for the podcast and Vintagio for the video! This is the first post from us on this topic. We will have two more soon! They will be about other Irish myths and legends. We hope you like our video and podcast about The Brown Bull of Cooley! The Brown Bull of Cooley! from St Peter’s, Bray on Vimeo.

We decided to podcast about three of them and we also decided to make storyboards to put different parts of the story in order. We hope you like our videos and podcasts!

We posted questions, as did our friends in Cloghan’s Hill School. We storified the answers to make them easier to read. Twitter is a cool way to access information on topics that we’re interested in – we’d...

Recently, 5th class read ‘War Horse’ by Michael Morpurgo as their class novel and really enjoyed it. We had a Twitter Q&A session with the Irish National Stud to answer some of the more technical questions from the book and we blogged about that here. As part of a prize for our excellent attendance, we watched ‘War Horse’ the film over the last few wet lunchtimes. It was really interesting watching it as the film of a book that we’d recently read. Our teacher noticed that we discussed the story a lot as we went along and we kept pointing out similarities and differences...
