We have experimented with baking and cooking this year, overall, I think we have some budding chefs in the 6th Class Classroom! I’m not sure if many of the tasty treats made it all the way home for parents to taste! Throwback to the time we got so engrossed in our science experiment and (with a broken clock!) managed to spend an extra 15 minutes in school…every pupil’s dream!! Halloween was a lot of fun with great art projects like these! The class created 3 full- size creatures to terrify the guests at the Halloween Disco! (I’m not too sure how James feels about being the monster model...

6th Class took part in the RDS Young Scientist Fair once again. Our theme this year was our climate, specifically looking at the question of “Does weather affect our ability to learn in school?”. After we had agreed on the theme and question for our Science presentation, we began by making our predictions. Some of the pupils thought they weather would affect us in school. For example, Leanne thought the sound of rain is very relaxing so that in turn, might help us concentrate better in class. Abbie also made the point that sometimes people get headaches when it is too hot and that it makes...

Hi everyone! 5th Class here, and we’re going to tell you all about how we celebrated Engineers Week 2017. Firstly, we explored the work of engineers. We had a special project to complete on the interactive board in school! We also looked at this wordle challenge completed by some of our brothers and sisters a couple of years ago. We’ve started #engweek17! We built a word wall, looked at the work of engineers and we prepared for our afternoon challenge! #5thClass pic.twitter.com/8kgipCJ35I — St. Peter’s Primary (@StPetersBray) March 6, 2017 For Engineers Week this year we: Completed...

St. Peter’s had a day to remember last Wednesday when our girls team won Division 3 of the Wicklow Times Shield. On a day of very poor weather conditions, they battled through to top a tough group that included Templerainney, Greystones Educate Together and Gaelscoil Chill Mhantàin. The girls fought back from 5-2 down to force a draw against a great Templerainney side thanks to scores from midfield pair Bridget Cox and Lauren Cheevers. The game finished 5-5. It was a different story in the second match against Greystones Educate Together as we lead 4-1 but scraped a 4-3 victory in the end...

Recently, the whole school learned a song and sang it together at assembly. We chose ‘I Lived’ by One Republic because the lyrics are so inspirational. It’s all about experiencing the good and the bad of life and is written by a father to his newborn son. We loved singing the song together and a special well done to our soloists – Casey, Patrick, Sophie, Toby, AJ, Kristina, Carl, Tristan, Finn, Lex, Adem, Ellie and Hayley.   I lived from St Peter's, Bray on Vimeo.

Last Tuesday, March 15th, in every school across the country, students are celebrating Proclamation Day as part of the celebrations of the centenary of 1916. In St Peter’s, we had a very special ceremony, where every class was involved, finishing with the raising of the Irish flag that was presented late last year by the members of the Defence Forces. We also displayed artwork in the hall related to our projects on the Easter Rising. Our ceremony started with an introduction from our principal, Ms. Whyte. Next, Amber from 4th class, Finn and Chris from 5th class and Alex, Alana and Ryan...

Recently, we celebrated the 100th day of the school year in St. Peter’s and we had lots of events to mark the day! We are all 100 days smarter, but what would we look like if we were 100 YEARS smarter? We used an app to age some of our classes to find out! Click ‘read more’ to see the rest of the photos!

Today was a very important day for St. Peter’s. The Irish Defence Forces delivered the Irish Flag and the 1916 Rising Proclamation to our school. This was to mark the Centennium of the 1916 Rising next year! We learned how to take care of the Irish flag and we also got the opportunity to ask the Defence Force questions about the 1916 Rising. Two children from 6th class did the school very proud today! They stood up on stage and read from the Proclamation and also told a personal story about their connection to the 1916 Rising. As a school, we then came together and sang Amhrán na bhFiann. It...
