Our Cup Final Match Report By Archie & Johnny After all the tension between Spain and Germanys match, it led to PENALTIES. Oh yes, it was time for penalties!  St. Peters Mini World Cup 2013 had gone to the wire. All the teams taking part were eager to see who would receive the gold. The tension was rising. 64 players were watching by their countries side hoping for a good win. It was 21 degrees on Friday and sweat was dripping from our wet faces. It was up to Jake to score one goal to put Spain in the lead. It all worked out, Jake shot the ball through the air and slipped past Juniors fingers...

Sixth class had a great day out recently on their trip to the Viking Splash Tour in Dublin City Centre. After meeting at the school nice and early, we caught the bus into the city and began an epic game of Eye Spy, which lasted for most of the day. We hoped to visit the National Museum before our transformation into Vikings, but as it was closed, we went to St Stephen’s Green and played a game of football in the sunshine – both students and staff were watching each other carefully, with the student-teacher soccer match in mind!

In the 2012-13 school year, St. Peter’s 2nd Class were the first group in the school (and one of the first few schools in Ireland) to engage in the Roots of Empathy programme. We recently completed all of our modules in the programme and held a celebration of the work of those involved. Yesterday saw the annual Wicklow Sports Day organised by Cumann na mBunscoil in Charlesland, Greystones. Twenty-one students from St Peter’s represented their school in a variety of events, from sprints to field events, such as the ball throw and the long jump. The sun shone all day and the boys found shade at one stage of the afternoon under our gigantic school banner! The boys all performed really well on the day and were great representatives of the school in their behaviour and their sportsmanship. Adam from 6th won first place in the ball throw with a fantastic third attempt, catching...

Many thanks to Ms. Collins and all the parents who came to 2nd Class last week to give them a taste of what Maths For Fun involves. It was a fantastic morning and it means so much to us that our parents want to come in and help us to work with the children. Well done to all the boys for working so hard to perfect the games and also for behaving so well.

Last Friday was the annual St. Peter’s School Sports Day. Thankfully the rain held off and the day was another great success, with great support from parents during every event. Ms. Whyte, Ms. Flanagan and Conor cooking up a feast at the BBQ! Highlights of the day included each class taking on the teachers in games of Bulldog, with Tautvydas showing the rest of the school exactly how the high jump is done! The multi-sports in the afternoon was great fun, with the boys playing hurling,
