We got a special Tweet from Buzz! Do you know what I’d love? I wish 2nd class in @StPetersBray would send me a podcast. Páidí has been telling me about their singing. *sigh* — Summer Reading (@SummerBuzz) December 8, 2014 Your wish is our command, Buzz! We made a podcast about our book recommendations for Páidí and we even sang a song or two!   Check out our Animoto below to see us reading to Páidí too!

On November 27th, 6th Class visited Leinster House as the final part of our #budget15 project. As you all know, earlier in the school year 6th Class presented local Junior Minister Simon Harris with a budget we had prepared. We divided up into ministerial roles and the department of finance ‘officials’ in class set to work to prepare a document suitable to present to Minister Harris. After weeks of work, when our project was done, Minister Harris came into our class and we presented him with out work. He really liked it! To reward us for our work, Minister Harris invited us into Leinster...

The St. Peter’s Primary Student Council ran a very successful Crazy Sock Day on November 28th. This was a fundraising effort that the Student Council wanted to hold in the run up to Christmas. We wanted our students to help those in need in Christmas. We ran the Crazy Sock Day by asking everyone to wear in socks into school that were big, colourful, funny and even homemade!  Everyone who took part donated a euro from their pocket money, with all money going to Concern. It was a great day. People arrived in with all sorts of socks! Even the teachers got involved. Have a look at all of our...

Daniel O’Connell 6th Class have been learning about Daniel O’Connell in History. Last Friday (during Golden Time!) we decided to have a little bit of fun as we looked back over all we learned. Step up Oisín, quizmaster extraordinaire! The rest is history! Enjoy the Rapid-Fire-Daniel-O’-Connell-quiz-time!

Last Monday morning, when Jerry and Nathan from 2nd class went to the classroom library to choose a book, they noticed something very unusual – a penguin!   Bit of a mystery in 2nd class. We found a penguin in the library! pic.twitter.com/gqVi5WNxFE — St. Peter’s Primary (@StPetersBray) December 1, 2014 We spent the day wondering what was going on and asking everyone who came into the classroom if they were responsible for leaving him there. On Tuesday, we noticed that the penguin had moved and found himself the letter P. It turned out he was trying to tell us something!   Our...

Junior and Senior Infants are doing the play “Whoops-A-Daisy Angel,” together for Christmas. The play will be on Tuesday the 16th of December at 1:00p.m. We can’t wait to see all the Mams, Dads, Grannies, Grandads, Aunties, Uncles, brothers and sisters there! The front row are angels in the play, the row behind them are snowflakes. We have been having lots of fun practising with our teachers. We have lots of songs to sing and we know them all really well! Some boys and girls are learning lines at home. A big thank you to all the Mums, Dads and grandparents helping us learn our...

Daniel tries an orange. Junior Infants have been learning lots about food over the past few weeks. We have learned what foods are good for us and we should eat lots of, and what foods we should only eat as a special treat. One morning during Aistear we tried different types of fruit! Some of us were really brave and tried all the fruit! Some of us tried fruit that we didn’t like and realised it was suprisingly yummy! Cian tries some blueberries and Aysha tries some raspberries. We learned that berries have something called Vitamin C in them which helps you not get a cold!

yay! Junior Infants have been working really hard tracing, cutting, coloring and using play dough to build up our fine motor skills! We are now ready to write letters. We have been learning to write “c” and are moving on to “a.” We love our new writing books! A.J. is finished his work and is reading a book while he waits for every body else to finish. Lovely and neat work done too A.J.!

Aysha is figuring out what sound to use next. As well as learning our sounds Junior Infants have been practising cvc words. This means consonant, vowel, consonant words like “run,” “bag,” and “tap.” We have been playing fun games to learn our words, we really like it! Szymon, Elif and Liam try to figure it out! We will be getting our words home for homework soon and we can’t wait! Aysha, Carl and Chloe are hard at work and having lots of fun! Our teacher is so impressed with how well we work together!
