Hi I’m back with more updates from 5th class on our Write A Book Project. Last night, I worked on my storyboard and we started writing properly this morning. In class, we worked on good beginnings for our books. Our teacher got the resources here from Seomra Ranga. The most important thing with the beginning is if it grabs your attention. It has to make you want to read more. We looked at different types of openings. You could start your book on a normal day or in the middle of a big accident or event. You could also start by talking straight to the reader. You could ask questions like ‘do...

Hi, I’m Robert and I’m in 5th class. I like writing all types of stories and my favourite books are ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’, ‘Big Nate’ and ‘The boy in the Striped Pyjamas’. Our school is taking part in the Write A Book project. You get to write a book on whatever you want to. I’m going to be blogging over the next few weeks to tell you how my class is getting on. So far, we’ve picked four suggestions for stories we might write. We picked four so that we had more choice to pick from. My story is about a king with a stammer. My other three...

This week, alongside the excitement of the play, 5th class were busy making Christmas logs! The boys were very grateful to Ms Sexton’s mam and dad, who provided the logs (nicely chopped with the spaces for the candles neatly drilled in, much to the relief of Miss) and the candles and the bows and the holly! Here’s an Animoto to show off our work: Merry Christmas!

I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for making yesterday’s concert such a great success. We were so proud of all of our students and thank our audience for creating such a fantastic atmosphere. I’d like to say a special thanks to all of the staff for their commitment and dedication to your children. Last night topped off an amazing term in what is a historic year for our school. Yesterday also brought great news for our blog! Thanks to your support and votes we won our first EduBlogs Award, recognising our podcasting work. This is a great achievement and we really hope to...

Yesterday 2nd Class read the story of The Little Match Girl. It is a sad story that reminds us to be grateful for all of the lovely things that we have in our lives at Christmas time. We decided to record the nice things that we want to do this Christmas to show true Christmas spirit. You can see our wishes in our video above and hear our promises in our podcast below! Thanks to our great friend Seomra Ranga for helping us to say our Christmas Spirit ideas and for making the lovely signs! While it is lovely to think of the delicious food, exciting toys, fancy decorations and fun days out at Christmas time, it is important not to forget the real reason behind Christmas. Here, boys from all of our classes will read the story of the First Christmas and remind us of the real reason behind this special time. Our crib in 2nd Class, it is helping us to learn about The First Christmas! This week in Fourth Class the answer has been revealed. The answer is Santa Claus. There are 63 questions up so far. Most of the questions are from our class. We think somebody might already have got the question correct. A boy from our class got the question last time. He was the only one. We know this new answer but do you know the question??
