Last Wednesday we were delighted to have a group of parents come in to learn the basics of flower arranging and designing Christmas wreaths. Places were limited to first come first served and we were delighted it filled up in no time. Everyone had a great time designing their own wreaths and flower displays as well as getting to know other parents. It was hard to pick a winner on the day, as all the creations were wonderfully designed but I think everyone agreed that Paddy Kinsella’s was by far the best!!!! Thanks to the following parents for getting involved; Melanie McDonald, Fiona Clucas,...

Welcome to our catch up post about the 1st and 2nd class Christmas play – ‘Stable Manners’. Stable Manners tells the story of three animals, Bessie (played by Adem), Cecil (played by Maddy) and Chuck (played by Cian), who are arguing over who will get to have Neddy’s stall in the stable (alas, poor Neddy!). They wait impatiently for the decision from the innkeeper (Liam) and his assistant, Heimi (Emanuele), but they get a shock when two unexpected visitors show up – Mary and Joseph, played by Naoise and Thomas. Throw in two robbers, Grabber and Snatcher, played by...

6th Class embraced the festive spirit in December and planned a Secret Santa in class. The gifts were thoughtful, personalised, homemade and delivered with the best of fun, laughter and friendship. What more could you want? We also had a lovely lunch of ‘Christmas sandwiches’ – delicious! What a lovely way to finish off a term with so many great highlights. Just do a search for ‘6th Class’ above to catch up with everything we’ve been getting up to! Well done guys! Have a luck at some of our snaps from the Christmas half day!

This December, 2nd class were busier than Santa’s elves making and sewing Christmas decorations for their families. They made Christmas logs, sewed Christmas decorations and stockings. Some of us even used our Christmas logs in the middle of the table during Christmas dinner. Check out our Animoto of all our decorations on the last day before the holidays.

Junior and Senior Infants are doing the play “Whoops-A-Daisy Angel,” together for Christmas. The play will be on Tuesday the 16th of December at 1:00p.m. We can’t wait to see all the Mams, Dads, Grannies, Grandads, Aunties, Uncles, brothers and sisters there! The front row are angels in the play, the row behind them are snowflakes. We have been having lots of fun practising with our teachers. We have lots of songs to sing and we know them all really well! Some boys and girls are learning lines at home. A big thank you to all the Mums, Dads and grandparents helping us learn our...

Where did that time go? It’s hard to believe that we’re thinking about the Christmas performances already! This year our performance schedule is slightly different, to reflect the fact that we have three new classes! Junior and Senior Infants will prepare a play together, First and Second Class will prepare a play together and Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Class will perform individual class plays. Not only that, they will also perform the annual Roald Dahl musical as a large group together! This year, our Roald Dahl musical is ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. Everyone got a chance...

Last Wednesday, the St. Peter’s Primary Student Council had a very, very important meeting. We decided early in the year that we wanted to run a meaningful fundraiser before Christmas. We have decided to help those in need this Christmas, and also to have a little fun when doing so! We have decided to do these things: 1. Run a fun, Crazy Sock Day where all staff and students will wear CRAZY socks to school. Everyone will be asked to kindly give €1 to charity! We will then use the money to buy Concern Gifts for people in need! Here are Aoife and John telling everyone about it as they made...

Cinderella, via Animoto! There are many great days in St Peter’s every year. There are great days when we all feel as if we’ve worked together to achieve something special and great days when our fantastic students get to show off the results of all their hard work. Of all the great days in the school calendar, there’s a special one that stands out – we love our Christmas play! We had our first performance at 11.30 a.m. on the Thursday morning and our second at 7 p.m. and we had a ball from start to finish. For those who aren’t familiar with our Christmas plays, we...
