Today was a very important day for St. Peter’s. The Irish Defence Forces delivered the Irish Flag and the 1916 Rising Proclamation to our school. This was to mark the Centennium of the 1916 Rising next year! We learned how to take care of the Irish flag and we also got the opportunity to ask the Defence Force questions about the 1916 Rising. Two children from 6th class did the school very proud today! They stood up on stage and read from the Proclamation and also told a personal story about their connection to the 1916 Rising.
