Hello everyone! We hope you are enjoying the first few weeks of school! We have been very busy in Senior Infants and have been working very hard. We are getting used to our new jobs and classroom and have been getting to know our new pupils too. We have already learned about our local area, our family and ourselves and look forward to learning lots about different jobs people in our community do over the next couple of weeks. We have worked really well together during morning activities and started our Aistear programme. During Aistear we will learn about lots of different and interesting themes...

What a great week we had in 6th Class last week. Just like 1st and 5th Class, we had an inspector come to visit us to check in on our work! He was pleased with us and really liked our English stations. We were delighted, but we now have to keep it up for the rest of the year. One of the coolest things we did was our chalk drawings out on yard. It was so much fun! We had to create a ‘picture’ and then become part of it ourselves! We got the idea from Pinterest. We love getting art ideas from that site! We also got an exciting (and very cute!) package from ClassDojo! Thank you so much...

Hello from 4th Class, As we are all aware, the building for our new extension went underway today 🙂 Due to this, 4th class have decided to take on the role of architects and plan what we could add to our school if we could design the new building. Here are some photographs of us working together in our pairs as we create school blueprints. Make sure to keep an eye out on the 4th Class display boards for the finished designs! 🙂

This afternoon, 2nd and 5th classes joined forces to read together! 2nd class read their readers to 5th class, while 5th class encouraged them to sound out words that they weren’t sure of, praised their work and asked them questions about the stories. Afterwards, 5th class read a picture book to their partner (and made sure to do the voices!) 5th class had chosen a picture book earlier in the day and practised reading with expression and fluency. Ms Fry and Ms Sexton were really impressed with how well the two classes worked together, but don’t take their word for it – here are...

Hello and happy new school year to one and all! What a fantastic fortnight we have already had. We’re adjusting to life in 6th Class, taking on new responsibilities and jobs and getting to grips with lots of new work. We spent the first week and a half getting to know each other, making sure our new pupils know where everything is and who everyone is, setting up our class shop (more on that later!), organising our room, labelling and numbering our books and copies, and doing our autumn tests! We also made out the rotas for cocoa duty, fruit delivery, roll book delivery, PE equipment supervision...
