Junior Infants did a fun science project! We went fishing with magnets! This was for our part in the school’s Discover Primary Science and Maths award. Before we could go fishing however, we had lots to learn. First we learned the difference between wood and metal. A spoon is made from metal.   Last Thursday was World Book Day! We all dressed up as our favourite character from a book! Lauren won best costume in Junior Infants! Junior Infants have been doing really well with their sounds, words and reading and we love taking our readers home to read them with our Mums, Dads, Grannies and Grandads. We love books!

Make-it club, our new after school club for first and second class, got off to a great start with our exciting Hamma bead creations today! We had great fun choosing all the colourful beads to put on our pegboard and then our creations were ironed so all the beads melted together. The pictures were taken off the pegboards and tomorrow we get to take home all our finished products!    There was a great turn out from first and second class and all the boys and girls are looking forward to all the fun things we get to create in the coming weeks…. Watch this space!

This year, for Engineer’s Week, we had a very exciting event as we had our first ever Junior K’NEX Challenge. As you know, our senior version is well-established – you can read all about this year’s event here and last year’s version is here.
