Yesterday in St Peter’s, we had a visit from the dental nurse, Mary Byrne.

She spoke to 3rd and 5th classes in the library about the importance of good dental hygiene.2013-10-08 11.47.20.

Mary demonstrated how to wash your teeth properly. She also showed us what our teeth are made of and what happens when we don’t take care of them.

She also spoke to us about our diet and especially the hidden sugar in fizzy drinks – remember to watch out for labels such as ‘sugar-free’ and ‘no added sugar’, The boys picked up lots of tips about how to keep your teeth healthy. Ms Sexton was really impressed by how much 5th class remembered from the last time they had a visit in 3rd class!

    Well done boys!

It reminds me of this poem that I loved in school – http://www.pamayres.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/I-Wish-Id-Looked-After-My-Teeth-.mp3.
