Second Class learned a lovely Roald Dahl poem and enjoyed getting to perform it for senior infants!

We in third class were delighted with our production of Aladdin Trouble – A Panto Like No Other! We would like to thank all the parents, family members and all of St. Peter’s for coming to see our show. We worked really hard on our production together with songs, dances, props and costumes and are all VERY proud of ourselves. Here are some snaps from the performance! Bridget, Abbi and Caoilynn (thanks to Abbi’s Mum for the cool costumes)! Our Narrator Kayden – he did a fantastic job! Dylan (the footballing genius), Dean (the charming dancer), Billy (our suitor with impressive...

6th Class were really proud to present their class sketch before the Christmas performance of Jack and the Beanstalk. We spent many weeks plotting and planning a funny sketch, and we wrote the whole play ourselves! We wanted to include some funny in-jokes from our time in 6th Class so far (here’s why we put in a reference to the Budget!) and we also wanted to include some funny characters and well-known figures! Have a listen to the play, we hope you enjoyed it! We loved every second of planning, writing and performing it. With such characters, how could it be any more entertaining?!

On December 17th, the students of St. Peter’s continued a now annual tradition of performing a Roald Dahl Revolting Rhyme musical. Having performed The Three Pigs, Cinderella, Snow White and Goldilocks in the past few years, it was now time for Jack and the Beanstalk. 3rd to 6th Class treated us to an amazing evening’s entertainment. We performed the show twice to packed audiences and we got a great reaction! Well done to everyone for their superb effort. We hope you enjoy looking back on the evening through our blogpost below! Snaps from the side of the stage! Highlights from the...

Where did that time go? It’s hard to believe that we’re thinking about the Christmas performances already! This year our performance schedule is slightly different, to reflect the fact that we have three new classes! Junior and Senior Infants will prepare a play together, First and Second Class will prepare a play together and Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Class will perform individual class plays. Not only that, they will also perform the annual Roald Dahl musical as a large group together! This year, our Roald Dahl musical is ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. Everyone got a chance...

2nd Class are exploring different ways of learning facts from our History, Geography and Science work. We like to be active learners and learn from doing! As you have seen before we have used podcasting for Geography, building for Science and video apps for History, to name but a few things we have tried out. This week we have been learning about the Titanic. We decided to use a new app that our friend Seomra Ranga suggested. It is a news app called NewsBooth. It makes it look like we are news reporters! It helps us to learn off facts like journalists. We imagined that we were reporting on the...

Cinderella, via Animoto! There are many great days in St Peter’s every year. There are great days when we all feel as if we’ve worked together to achieve something special and great days when our fantastic students get to show off the results of all their hard work. Of all the great days in the school calendar, there’s a special one that stands out – we love our Christmas play! We had our first performance at 11.30 a.m. on the Thursday morning and our second at 7 p.m. and we had a ball from start to finish. For those who aren’t familiar with our Christmas plays, we...

2nd Class had a great time presenting their class play ‘The Little Rascals’ in December. We picked the story because we love the film and Ms. Brennan wrote some lines for us and gave us parts. We wanted to have fun and have a story that would include girls and boys, and especially something that would be a reminder that we are the first class in St. Peter’s with boys and girls! Why not listen to our performance here? You should also check out our video of some of our characters. We hope you like it!
