During the day today, we held a socially distant ceremony in person for our 6th class – sticking to our pods – with a very small number of staff spread out around the hall. This evening, we invite our families and friends to celebrate with us! Our mural this year reflects the time we spent on Zoom. It’s finally here! 6th class students v teachers in a 4 challenge competition. All you have to do is record yourself doing the challenges that the two Paddys are doing below and WhatsApp them to the school mobile number. Each challenge you complete is worth a point so every bit helps. There are 22 6th class students and 22 staff so it’s a fair contest. You have until 2pm today to get your videos in for it to count. Best of luck everyone!

Despite not being able to celebrate sports day together, we hope students will try a few events that have become classics in our annual fun sports day such as the Blindfold challenge and Mr. Kinsella’s obstacle course. We have two videos below. Junior sports day for Junior Infants to 2nd class and Senior sports day for 3rd to 6th class. Please send a photo or video of yourself doing 1 of the events shown to enter the weekly competition. Don’t forget to finish with the hot dog!! Best of luck to all.

This year, as we can’t be in school, we are asking all students to take part in the Mini World Cup at home. All you need to do is to record yourself scoring as many penalties as you can in 30 seconds and send them to the school mobile phone through WhatsApp. Your score will be added to others on your team from different classes. Don’t worry if you haven’t a ball or goal, we show you in the video below how to do it without them. PLUS WE HAVE A SPECIAL GUEST SHOWING PADDY HOW IT’S DONE! Get your videos into us before Saturday night – and best of luck!

On Tuesday evening, our 6th class graduated from St. Peter’s after a very successful year (and particularly, a very successful afternoon where they became only the second class to beat the teachers in the annual soccer match!) Student of the Year was Nathan Douglas for his school spirit, hard-working nature and friendship to all. Sportsperson of the Year was Leon Reynolds, not just for his ability, but for his encouragement of others and leadership on and off the pitch/track. Jamie...
