Yesterday, 22 students from 5th and 6th class travelled to the Aviva to watch UCD Waves play in the final of the FAI Women’s Cup. Unfortunately, the result didn’t go our way (we were cheering for UCD Waves) but we had a brilliant day – as you can see in the Animoto and the Storify of all the tweets. Thanks to UCD Waves for our tickets and to Dublin Bus for supplying our transport. Thanks also to Paddy, Ms Flanagan, Mr Kinsella, Ms Kane, Ms Keating, Ms Sexton and Mr Foley for organising the trip and coming along to look after the students – and to Alan for the photo above! For...

As you know, we’re big fans of Khan Academy in St Peter’s! You can read all about Mathletes, which uses Khan Academy as a platform, here. We’ve recently established our first Digital Youth Council in St Peter’s (more on that to follow!) and their first job was to demonstrate how to use Khan Academy as a student at the Khan Academy Symposium in Eircom HQ on Saturday. Our students were superb on the day and we were extremely proud of how enthusiastic and engaging they were. We received so many compliments about our students’ behaviour, manners and knowledge! Thanks especially...

Recently in St Peter’s, we’ve been celebrating healthy eating. Last week, we had Sandwich Day, where some of our classes got to make a sandwich with lots of healthy fillings! 2nd class made a podcast about their choice of fillings and we have lots of lovely photos in our Animoto. In our classrooms, we practised procedural writing and the senior classrooms learned about nutrition and fitness as part of our work towards our Active Flag! Thanks to Mr Foley and Paddy for all their hard work organising such a fantastic day! A small selection of the bread needed for Sandwich Day! pic.twitter.com/HB7QSxqc1J —...

6th Class have decided to record their prayers to help them to prepare to celebrate their Confirmation next term. There are many prayers for us to learn. We have made two full sheets with lots of prayers and we have sent them home to practice every night. If you are practicing the prayers, it might help to play these podcasts where we are reminded what to say. We can practice the prayers beside the sound. These are the prayers from page one as sent home!

From this… The 2013-2014 line-up! …to this! The 2014-2015 line-up, with over 60 new pupils, including infants and girls! Well, here we are! Back again to St. Peter’s for another exciting year, one we hope will stand up as one of the best as we welcome back so many familiar faces, and celebrate the arrival of so many new students! We’re delighted to have Junior, Senior and First Class...
