3rd Class with the help of Mr. Kinsella and Ms. Byrne have been working really hard to create their very own Stop Motion videos. Stop motion is an animation technique to makes objects appear to move on their own. We decided to use Lego as our main prop as it one of our favorite things. We worked in groups of three to come up with characters, props and storylines for our animations. We moved the Lego and props in small increments between each frame creating the illusion of movement. Tommy has started a new trend for film-making. Cathal from 3rd class and Robert from 5th class are showcasing their excellent stop-motion films made at home today! They used Lego and a stop-motion app to create two videos. They plan to make another one using Cathal’s crane over the weekend. We’re really impressed by our students’ creativity! It is lovely when students let us know about some of the amazing and creative things that they like to do in their spare time at home. We were absolutely delighted when Tommy Lang in 4th Class filled us in on the stop-motion animation videos that he like to make at home on his Nintendo 2DS. We were all looking forward to the new Lego movie coming out – now we’re thinking that we don’t need to see it as we have Tommy’s brilliant movie that is just incredible to watch. Well done Tommy, we’re so proud of you. Make sure you have a look and let him know what you think of...
